I made a generalisation the other day, based on "I Am The Walrus" and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", that Beatles lyrics are completely insane and cannot be analysed because of their often utter incongruity. However, Jireh's latest blog entry has suddenly awakened me to the fact that Beatles lyrics make a lot of sense. John Lennon wasn't an acclaimed songwriter for nothing. So many other songs are so full of meaning, like blackbird, strawberry fields to some extent, Nowhere Man.

And Rufus is brilliant. Listening to Go or Go Ahead, and amazed yet again at just how much sense it makes. And then Want at the end of the CD. What beautiful crafting. And the VOICE. Thevoicethevoicethevoice.
