omg. maggie grace has a melissa george mouth! and the same initials!!! and they're both pesky characters on abc-jj abrams shows. ok actually no they're not both pesky. lauren reed was totally pesky, shannon is just a spoilt brat but i think if i were stranded on an island i would probably be a pain as well. again, let us solemnly remember obs. and anyway she's quite endearing by the end of season 1. and her sayid thing is totally sweet. ugh i need to watch Lost properly. all this i have gleaned by spending the whole day watching Lost clips on lost-media.com. point: maggie grace is forgiven for having a melissa george mouth and initials.
oh my god i just watched the season 2 premiere of lost, and it's so scaryyyyyy. the cliffhanger at the end especially. which means now i have to watch the next ep and the next and so on. argh. d/ling is such a PAIN. my computer is horribly slow. is there anyone d/ling season 2?

argh. my brother was trying to scare me earlier by telling me that last night he heard maniacal laughter from my room. a thought that REALLY scares me btw. but my dad suitably reassured me that my brother was just being stupid, so i didn't feel scared. (i sound like a total wimp don't i? it's ok atleast i'm a girl.)

and now i'm scared by the stupid tv show. i'm listening to my happy playlist in order to calm down.

ok actually i'm not that scared. just uh.. freaked. an entirely justified response to that episode, i swear. the ending is just Weird. and very very freaky. and i need to figure out what that guy's accent is. it was sort of irish i think. do irish call people "brother?"

No Dramatic Action
i was in front of my computer just now, with my brother standing behind me asking annoying questions when suddenly a ginormous insect flew in front of me. i screamed. i pushed my chair back violently. i ran the chair over my brother's toe. it is not the first time my fear of insects and ensuing violent action has resulted in an injury. it's just the first time the injury has been to someone other than me. ugh.

i am totally dilemma-ed about a different sort of shopping. i decided i should really use up my amazon voucher, and it's for 150USD meaning i have to spend less than 150 in order to allow for shipping, but even before shipping my bill currently stands at 218 bucks. second ugh.

my mother just pronounced that she and her friends are going clubbing tomorrow. my mother has a more happening social life than i do. third ugh.

i still haven't sorted out the clothes-shopping dilemma. fourth ugh.

my life has such fascinating problems. i'm sure everyone really wants to know all about them. i had other ughs but i shall just go deal with the amazon ugh first.

ugh should be dictionary-d.
i have Shopped. a really cute fitted white shirt from topshop, victorianish with slightly puffy shoulders and 3/4 sleeves and buttons all the way down the front. and it looked very good with a pair of slouchy jeans they had. i think i'll go back for the slouchy jeans on thursday. i reserved them and i got some 20% discount voucher. if i'm feeling rich i might also pick up a couple of colourful tanks. topshop tanks are super comfy. anyway i'm a bit upset because the shirt doesn't really work with anything besides that pair of jeans! it does work with my fcuk cords but i'm getting very sick of those cords and i'm also pissed off because when i got the length of the cords altered, they cut it too short so it looks weird with heels. i am terribly frustrated.

oh also, the slouchy jeans looked great from the front but a bit weird at the back. all my jeans are like that. actually i think it's because of my XXL ass. even more frustrating. no matter how much i run (not that much, really, lazy pig that i am) my butt stays the same size. probably gets bigger. i hope i'm just having a fat day.

i also got me another junkfood tee. this one's just plain white with a big junkfood logo on it. i think i might've bought that just for the sake of buying another junkfood tee but i love the feel and fit of junkfood tees and i'm a big fan of white tees so it's a good investment, i'm pretty sure. and then i headed to the really cheap accessories store and picked up a braided white belt. and the cool thing is it's got the buckles, plus it's long enough that after the buckle i have to do something with it, so if i want i can do that twisty-belt thing they've been doing on the runways.

queen's couture also had a yellow sesame street junkfood tee which made me very happy but chit said it was too bright. i don't know why everyone thinks yellow a bright, ugly colour. yellow's a nice colour, most of the time. unless beyonce (or was it sheryl crow? i cannot remember) wears a bright yellow dress with a big hole in it, that looks like someone took a bit out of a banana with the skin on. ew. anyway if i'm not buying those slouchy jeans i might get that tee as well. but i think i might exchange the white shirt for the slouchy jeans. that might make sense. and then there are those heels at wheelock that i was coveting. i could actually buy the jeans and the tee and the heels and keep the white shirt as well, but then i will be quite wiped out. confusion confusion.

this is a Major Decision i must ponder over. there is also the cream knitted headband i saw at the accessories store, but i think i'd prefer a black one. and there's the I Love Me lipbalm at qc, but i'm quite sure it's not going to be better than my kiehl's lipbalm, just prettier and funnier. and then there is the fact that i don't exactly need another pair of jeans, and i'd prefer slouchy trousers to slouchy jeans but i didn't see any slouchy trousers. maybe i should go visit BCBG. they haven't exactly done fantastic trousers lately, though. which reminds me i have a ton of runway photos i am too lazy to put up. aquascutum to tuleh. about 60 pictures.

despite the few nice pieces in topshop, and some very cute coats and amusing runway rip-offs, it is largely ragged-chic, if it can even be called chic. there was a grey miniskirt with wonderful satin ruching at the hip, but the majority of the skirt consisted of grey rags. and weird tops with bits hanging everywhere. and lots of beyond-ugly boots.

i feel quite guilty cos i shopped so much and chit bought nothing except lunch for both of us. and i had to loan 50 from her for the junkfood tee because i didn't take enough cash with me. there are so many reasons to get a Nets card but it would become useless too soon because i'd just spendspendspend.

oh and another peeve -- coffee club express. the place has totally gone down the drain. i was wondering why there were so few people there today, because during RG days on our regular coffee club jaunts the place was usually quite full around lunchtime on weekdays, but evidently i am not the only person who has noticed the totally shitty service and food. the last time i was there, in july, they gave me cold soup and an annoyed look when i told them to heat it up. and my prata wrap was burnt and rubbery.

this time, the soup was the only thing that tasted ok, although it was completely messy with soup spilt all over the plate underneath and the tissue when they brought it to us. and the prata wraps have shrunk so much! the price is still the same, though. and still rubbery and lukewarm. and they said they'd bring me my cake later, but they didn't and they were all congregated behind the counter not looking at the customers at all until i caught one of their eye and tried to wave him over, but he waved me over instead! and i went and asked for my cake and for two seconds they gave me blank looks until the guy who'd taken my order said "Oh yeah, cake!" and i returned to my seat. and then a few minutes later a guy turns up with the cake, and bangs it down on the table sullenly and practically drops the forks on the table from where he was standing (it was one of those low tables inside the round place). and the cake tasted like it had been made three weeks ago.

i am not exaggerating. chit was equally displeased, though less vocal about it. and nasty agrees with me that the place sucks. i filled out a feedback form, in fact, and wrote that i used to be a regular there some time ago, but that i'm not ever coming back. please boycott coffee club express so that the wisma branch shuts down and something fantastic replaces it.

another annoying place is o'briens at jelita. their hummus wrap is cold and horrible-tasting and the service sucks as well. there are very few places these days with good service. i think i have inherited my dad's peeve about restaurant service. he gets into really bad moods when service is less than perfect.

must stop eating so much and save money for more useful things, considering the dearth of good places to eat. Cream Bistro the other day was decent, though i only tried the soup. hm. oh and it was entertaining because one of the waiters was incredibly weird. his legs were really really really skinny and he had such tight jeans i bet they were girl jeans. and a tight deep maroon shirt. it was amusing, to say the least.

oh and chit -- despite the bad food etc, thank you for lunch, and for the 50. thursday or friday, i promise!

ew i hate doing shout-out thingys. so pretentious and girly. but it's probably easier to contact chit by blog than by phone or msn something. she is one of the most hard-to-contact people in the world, and if she's asleep she will never ever hear the phone. i wish i could sleep like that. i always wake up when the phone rings and then i feel annoyed.

i will go now and sit with my calculator and ponder shopping possibilities. sometimes i need a personal assistant even more than nasty does. or, really, just a Life Advisor.

basso&brooke at london fashion week. london fashion week is known to be experimental, so this is the avante-garde, deconstructed, crazy cuts and even crazier prints. and being england, they're all about the crazy headgear. this outfit is very very reminiscent of libertine from new york fashion week, remember? except i think libertine is inspired by the british insanity, since vivienne westwood did it first. anyway, am loving the pink tulle.
this dress is strangely appealing. it's fun, it's light, it's worn with great heels.
this is - wow! a normal-looking dress! but it's got the light floaty feel of the others as well which is nice.
the bustier top is very pretty. the trousers... maybe for someone with the guts and personality to carry it off, and a very very simple extremely well-tailored white shirt.
psychadelic and even slightly nauseating. but the top's another one that would work by itself. with understated, dark-rinse jeans, a bright pair of heels and minimal makeup.
i LIKE this. bold b&w print on a minidress? that takes guts.
love the long flippy skirt. and the top too, a very 1940s shape but funkified with the print.
that bustier top is just nuts, but again with the long flippy skirt love!
she has a piano keyboard wrapped around her head! this is why they call london Experimental.
cool and very very crazy.
wow they are really music-inspired. the dress is sort of cool, but the headgear. wow. /basso&brooke
this and the next 4 are pretty old pictures from a couple of seasons ago, they're pretty so i'm putting them up. i LOVE this dress from barbara bui, the slouchy look that is so fantastic, and the slightly flapper-inspiredness. and worn with high boots, it is so so so sexy. and it totally works despite the flatchestedness of the model. or maybe because of it, haha. barbara bui has really great silhouettes, like that trouser ensemble below.
the dress isn't magnificent, but i really liked that it's worn with those adorable little boots.
foreshadowing the slouchy trousers look this season. this is very sexy. /barbara bui.
andrew gn. that is a great shirt.
sophia kokosalaki. this isn't fantastic, but i think i liked the picture mostly because of the lighting. and the draping of the dress is quite nice.
stephen burrows ready-to-wear. this is a very sweet dress. perfect for prom, for someone who exemplifies Sweetness. the strappy heels add a little bit of sexy.
this is rather sexy, even though the model's hair and face is the epitome of latina whore. which is mean, i know. but the scalloped edges and deep v neck probably don't help either. but it's still hot. i like the skirt.
this is so sweet! the model also has a sweet face. that model on the right who's walking back, by the way, is totally transvestite-looking.
i think this is a very refreshing length for a black dress, it's like a daytime dress length but in black.
this is Hot. the scalloped edges are tres chic. (sorry for the totally Bergdorf Blondes expression, but i'm trying to think of alternatives to nice, hot, sexy, lovely, beautiful, gorgeous, funky, cool etc. maybe i'll go look up a thesaurus sometime.)
there's something very sexy about white dresses as well.
i really like the shape of the neckline. jury's still out on whether the asymmetrical layers are good or bad. opinion?
this is such a lovely colour and flirty flirty style. /burrows.
yesterday was quite good fun. i like this picture. and my face is disgustingly oily. i need to get more sleep and wear more makeup or something.
new template! still some kinks -- there's some weird link at the bottom of each post, but claud's gone offline all of a sudden so i can't bug her to help me fix it.

anyway, claud is a god! (that rhymes.) ok goddess -- which doesn't rhyme. i LOVE the template. yay!

i'm thinking about reviving the shoutbox/tagboard or whatever it was i had, since claud's given me a TALK heading. but in any case she's fixed the comments thing, so now you can click on the link and directly go to the creating-comments page.

EDIT: the kink has been worked out, so it's perfect now!
i am happy.

zac posen has some amazing coats this season. this is just a normal trench, but it's edged with a little colourful detail and embroidery. the most amazing part of his collection, of course, is the evening section because that's what he started doing and that's what he does best. but i'm saving the best for last :D so you get the coats and the trousers and the short dresses first.
he's got this whole eyelet thing on in this collection. i don't normally like this sort of formal shorts look but it goes well with the bolero and the belt and strappy heels. the hat is humourous.
i love this coat. again the eyelet thing, and very nice colour.
wow talk about an unusual jacket.
eyelet skirt. i can't figure out what material that skirt is, but if it's suede then Respect. it's gorgeous.
posen's take on the low-slung trouser look. that huge bag is hideous though. the shirt is sort of retro and cool and very nicely laidback.
this is such a pretty colour. it's a dress to wear on summer vacation in... greece or somewhere mediterranean like that. particularly with those sexy strappy orangey heels.
this is really pretty. the pleated volume of the lower half goes beautifully with the multicoloured stripiness.
this shape is very hot right now, for flirty short dresses.
this is a very cute little dress.
posen is the god of evening gowns. i love the colour, and the flowery things at the hem. the model needs boobs to fill the dress out a bit, though. boobs would add proportion.
is there anything posen can NOT do when it comes to evening gowns? this is a GORGEOUS gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous colour, and the model is -pretty- and she looks -happy-! achievement.
diaphanous float-floaty gown. it reminds me of... butterflies and the sea. /posen
vera wang. this is classic, perfectly cut and proportioned and that little cheeky touch with contrasting flats. this is Style.
bbeautifullll shoulder on this dress. but WHY do models always have such sour expressions. geez.
i like the top it's cute and babydolly though like most babydolls it veers dangerously close to maternity wear. it's very weird paired with this skirt, although the skirt's a very nice colour. there's something a bit off about a lot of the outfits in this collection.
deep green skirt! not usually a fan of green, but this is lovely. it's like that other wang skirt from the same collection that i put up a few days ago, except that was even more lovable because it was navy blue and the top was also lovely.
this is a really unusual colour. i like it.
vera wang does red beautifully too.
this is a great orangey-red and it's got that contrast-band-at-waist thing. i don't like the circular hem though. weird.
navy blue with black embroidery, look carefully you can see the embroidery. i love navy blue. and lots of other types of blue.
howwwww much do i love blueeeeee :):):)
this coat is beautiful, even though the dress doesn't look too promising. /wang
calvin klein. such a sweet babydoll dress. his entire collection deserves bigger boobs though, especially considering that circles are a main motif as part of the whole retro thing! and i wish the heels were a bit more delicate.
