catherine malandrino's collection is disappointing. she's got african influences as well as sort of peasant/pilgrim/prairie influences. "amish craftsmanship", apparently. which is... iffy. but this dress is nice. the patchwork colourfulness works because the cut is so simple. it's the only nice dress in the collection. the rest have really really weird cuts and colours and shapes.
