on a completely frivolous note that is a startling contrast to the rather serious tone of the previous post, i am kicking myself for not buying the September issue of Vogue when I was at Borders the other day. See, I wasn't sure if my mom already had it, and I couldn't be bothered to call and ask (especially because she might just get a little mad at me for wanting to buy Vogue at this time.) Anyway I came home, subtly inquired and discovered that she didn't, in fact, have it. And just now I realised that in addition to being about 800 pages thick and therefore a potentially fascinating read, it also has a feature on Stefano Pilati, Marc Jacobs, Olivier Theyskens, Narciso Rodriguez, Miuccia Prada, Nicolas Ghesquiere, and Alber Elbaz (v hot designers all, though I'd have thought Stella McCartney might've been a nice eighth for this bunch, wonder why she isn't in. and Phoebe Philo! ok but Phoebe doesn't have her own line, as far as I know. but then neither does nicolas ghesquire, i think. i need to do some googling, and figure out if i'm grossly misinformed.) indeed, neither of them has their own line, nor does olivier theyskens or stefano pilati for that matter. i think phoebe and stella have already had a ton of press and the rest haven't.

strange mix though. stefano pilati took over at ysl about a year ago, whereas miuccia prada has had prada since.. well since her grandfather or someone founded it, and she took over in the 70s i think. anyway, i am intrigued by the article so i must buy vogue soon.

oh and check out: liz hurley's swimwear line. she is sexy.

i blog when i am stressed. or rather, when i don't feel like studying. i wish we studied fashion history. it's interesting and i remember things a lot better. more aesthetically pleasing than hitler, also. or mao or stalin or mussolini or deng or reagan (ok reagan was decent but he doesn't beat a pair of stella mccartney ribbon heels) or... louis XVI or napoleon or robespierre or whoarealltheotherpeoplewe'resupposedtoknowabout. tsar nicolas. kaiser wilhelm. cavour, bismarck. cecil rhodes. truman. marshall. kennan. lenin. stolypin. i don't know what half these people looked like, hahaha. atleast i remember a bunch of names. i also know when hu yaobang died -- april 17th 1979. because that's also jen garner's and posh spice's birthday, though not in 1979.

i REALLY hope mr rollason isn't going to read that last paragraph. it's just the stress, sir! and i entreat all teachers, if you are reading this, to say something to the effect of "hello" on the tagboard. thank you!
