UWC Rock Show: Last year was better overall in terms of music being the type that I like, but this year had some especial goodness. Of course Patrick Elliot was there again, but his band Broadcast played only four songs =[ And I realised that he looks a bit like Brian! Which makes the attraction even stronger. And he's got this other hot guy in his band called Michael, who is very very hot. He was our Dave last year, and even better this year because he was wearing a full-sleeved shirt, and men in shirts are so beautiful. And they're both so fucking tall. Beautifucks, damnit, both of them. I don't know about Michael, but Patrick's unfortunately still very attached to his blonde haired, blue-eyed Nicole. I suppose it's sweet that they've been together since the 3rd grade. Doesn't lessen the pain of watching them being couple-y. But, as if I ever had any chance with him. He's got groupies and all. And UWC has some gorgeous females. I was thinking, if I got so hormonal near Patrick Elliot who vaguely resembles Brian, what the hell would happen to me if I did ever meet Gale Harold?
And there was so much other hotness. The guys standing around weren't bad on the eyes at all. There was one Jap guy who sang in one of the bands, who resembled Rosebud a little bit, and he was really funny. And an Indian guy who likes to be called Indy, pretended to hump his guitar, and he played really well. And Isuru was brilliant as usual. And the lead singer for their band, who was Chit's eye candy last year, was even cuter this year at least IMO, because his hair's grown out. Unfortunately I discovered that everybody in that band is in the tenth grade. And there was a 14 year old or something called Leo, the lead singer for another band, who's a really really good performer. I'd fall for him if he was a little older and taller. And even the girls are bloody hot.
Enough about hotness: music wasn't all to my taste, but in terms of style and talent, fantastic. I did actually get quite a bit of the kind of music I like, because they interspersed the hard rockers with more acoustic style bands, but the hard rockers were frankly more talented musicians. Broadcast, however, is a really nice blend of great music and great performance. There was one acoustic-y band who played Goo Goo Dolls and Dashboard Confessional, who were very professional. All in all, there is serious talent there. Do local schools really lack that kind of musical talent so much or is it a closet thing? Maybe we should organise a rock show, just to see what kind of talent it turns up. Only of course it might be completely cringe-worthy. But yeah, the kind of talent they have makes local schools seem woefully inadequate. I don't know how good their drama is, but from what I hear it's excellent as well, and the art around the school is superb as well.
I sometimes think that I should've taken the opportunity to go to UWC and do the IB (and all the guys, haha) despite it meaning that joining a class younger than me this year. But the atmosphere would be really horrible. It's like a total American high school, with absolutely no warmth. It's all about being cool, and everybody is just sizing everybody else up which personally is so NOT cool. It's not even normal to go up to a performer and say that they were really good or there are so many I'd have complimented, it's just not done or something. UWC's nice for little social visits for the various events, which are always fabulous, but I think I'd rather not go to school there ever. Plus, excessive exposure to their breed of the male species might be fatal, like too much chocolate or sex or something.
